POEM: Reborn from Chaos

REBORN FROM CHAOS

By Satya (Jenifer Satya Shapiro)

I feel everything falling apart

As if each atom is dispersing and the space in between expanding

I have no control here

It’s as if space has no meaning

Depleted, discouraged, undone

I find myself on the ground, suddenly laughing hysterically at the chaos

Que paso y que puedo hacer (what happened and what can I do)

There is nothing I can do here

It seems like, feels like, an in-between

Somehow that concept is comforting

More comforting than a check or a promise

For it offers the thought of moving between worlds to a better alignment

A world where things make sense again

It’s been so long since things made sense

Like the world went mad in an instant and I fell in and forgot myself

Shaken free like leaves from a branch that set us free before it died

I stand in the in-between ready to be reborn

I slowly stand up, somehow I sense something deeply has changed in me

I cannot locate the moment it happened and yet I am certain

I am on the other side now, ready for the next phase

And all it took was the madness to lead me here

And the openness to fall in
